The 4th Trimester Initiative

The Love For Your Child Does Not Have To Change Your Love For Medicine

Study Overview

The 4th Trimester Initiative is a multicenter prospective, randomized trial seeking to improve wellbeing of physician and surgeon trainees (residents and fellows) who are birthing parents. It is designed to address fatigue and lactation challenges while improving mentorship and your ability to take care of yourself and your baby. The study is based on the fundamental belief that a short term investment in the wellbeing of physician trainee moms during a challenging life transition yields long-term benefits in professional satisfaction and physician wellbeing.
